Sometimes you need to take a step back and take it slow. Sometimes you need to be a little pampered. If you’re having one of those frustrating, frazzling, flaky days, step right up.
I made this mask a while ago, but have used it since. In my book, anything that can be simultaneously used as a face mask and a snack is full of win. Seriously, this kinda made me want toast. Just to, you know, dip in the bowl after I’m done. So if you feel the need to be pampered, why not plan to faceplant in chocolate tonight?
1/3 cup cocoa powder (I used dark chocolate, but it sounds like hot cocoa would work well too)
1/4 cup honey
2 T heavy cream or sour cream (I used plain yogurt)
3 tsp oatmeal powder
To make oatmeal powder, simply pulse a few tablespoons of dry oatmeal in a food processor. I can tell you from personal experience that it’s always nice to have a little baggie of this on hand. For emergencies, you know.
Mix all ingredients until well combined and scrubbable. Add more oatmeal powder as necessary to get the consistency you want. Scrub on, let sit for about 20 minutes, and rinse. Also, if you like yours extra chunky (or not), I recommend wiping off the oatmeal flotsam after scrubbing and letting the rest of the mask do its work. It helps to avoid oatmeal falling into things that shouldn’t taste like, look like, or be mixed with oatmeal. Like tea and magazine pages and cats. Just saying.
I may be in need of this mask. I deleted this post a dozen times before getting it out.
